
"Grow our own" is the mantra rural and tribal healthcare organizations refer to for nursing staff recruitment and retention. But finding ways to train and keep nurses in rural, underserved, and tribal areas in Arizona through youth pipeline, recruitment, and retention programs are a critical part of those “grow our own” initiatives to combat nursing shortages This article describes how healthcare organizations and academics in Arizona are trying to address these shortages as part of the “great resignation” in nursing.
